[Minecraft]Diamonds and Dead Dogs [beta 1.7.3]
Seed: absurdpirates
So, logged in and went and cleared out more dirt to flatten the base's area a bit. I was kinda getting sick of going to bed in the unprotected wilderness, so I started building in my house and got decently far. Needed more cobblestone, so I decided to go and explore the nearest cave a bit.
House under construction:
I mined as much iron, coal, and gold as I could find. Even got some lapis lazuli, I think I'll use lapis for carpet in my house?
Killed enough skeletons to garner 5 bones. Will need to keep my eye out for a wolf.
After walking around in circles for half an hour because my torch placement is dogwater, came across my first diamonds!
Managed to get 4 diamonds from this vein
I ran out of torches, so I headed back to the roofless house to get more torches and finish construction. As I was finishing the roof I found a wolf. This hungry bitch ate all 5 of my bones before it was happy enough for me to put a collar on him. Since there isn't nametags in beta, I just saved his name in my head, I named him Sir Timothy Dexter. Parked his ass in front of my house and finished the roof.
The last picture of a happy life
I wanted to get more diamonds so I can make a sword, so I took STD with me to the cave. We had a great time, I'd take an arrow in the knee and Sir Timothy Dexter pounced. Well, unfortunately Notch didn't program these wolves with more than 2 braincells. As this stupid fuck dog, with an IQ almost as low as the guy who I named him after, went and chased a zombie right into a pool of lava.... I had this dog for 20 minutes! Anywho, found more diamonds. Oh and I found a dungeon! I kept hearing a gaggle of zombies in my area, and so I dug around the area until I finally stumbled upon it! Lit the area to prevent spawns, raided the chests and got a music disc, a saddle, some bread, and iron. I also mined all the mossy cobblestone, a rare block in beta Minecraft.
I used the diamond pickaxe I made earlier to mine up some obsidian for a nether portal. I had made a fire place in my house, but I didn't have any netherrack to light it with. Took my riches back to the surface and carved a little hole in the wall of a nearby hill. Built the portal and dove in. Grabbed exactly one netherrack and went back home.
I took my sole netherrack back into my house, grabbed my flint and steel, and lit the netherrack fireplace. Completing the interior of my home, for now.
